Kevin - I just got the update. Peter is moving to water color stage this week - then it goes into layout and design - and finally the book goes into actual production next year. The way things work with production and distribution, we may not hold the book in our hands until end of 08. And the world will see it in 2009. Amazing how long the publishing journey takes - but this is going to be an international effort - coordinated by two of the best publishing houses in the world Candlewick Press in the US and Walker Books in the UK - along with many of the publishers around the world who publish Peter's work. So, while it will take a while, the impact we hope to have in the relative near future should be profound.

Meanwhile, we are building all the support pieces we'll need when the book wends its way around the world in such a big way. We hope this site will be buzzing by then - and welcome many new members to the community who "get it." I'll post updates as I get them, but meanwhile, we'll keep printing the "classic" edition of The North Star to keep up with the demand.

And thanks for presenting The North Star to other teachers. We really appreciate that - nothing beats a direct testimonial from folks who are using it like you do!

When will the new version be available? I will be presenting to teachers next week and wonder if they should purchase the old version or the new version? Any word on prices?

Wow - FABULOUS! Please do keep us posted on the progress of the 10th anniversary edition of The North Star, as well as the Boston Globe feature on Peter! I'm excited to see both!
